Dark Deception by Nancy Mehl – book review

Dark Deception is the second book of the Defenders of Justice series by Nancy Mehl.  I absolutely loved this book! A very fast-paced book, it kept me turning the pages as fast as I could.

Kate O’Brien has been living a very quiet and uneventful life for the past four years. Then when the past comes back (a past she would like to just forget), she has no choice but to deal with everything.

Tony DeLuca protected Kate four years ago… and now he must do it again.

Everyone is working on this case but no they are getting no closer to finding the killer than they were. But now its different… they have even more lives at stake.

In this book, Kate is forced to deal with things that happened four years ago. Tony helps her deal with those things and helps her find her way back to God. The characters are forced to be strong when they don’t want to be.

I very much enjoyed reading this book. I didn’t read the first one before jumping into this one, but I don’t think it took anything away from the plot.

I would recommend this book to anyone who likes a fast-paced mystery that keeps you thinking.

I got this book free from Bethany House Publishing in return for a review.
