A Fool & His Monet by Sandra Orchard

A Fool & His Monet is very good book. I really liked Sandra Orchard‘s writing style.

Here is a summary:

Serena Jones has always wanted to be a FBI agent on the Art Recovery team. Less than a year on the job, her best friend Zoe, who runs an art museum, comes to her saying the museum has been robbed. Two specific paintings had been taken. And it’s been 9 months since they were last seen!

Serena refuses to give up. Even though she has very little to go on, she will tie everything together to see the real picture of what happened.

Sandra Orchard’s writing style is different than most authors I read. I like the way she builds the plot of the story with little details that in the end are the main reason for the mystery. There wasn’t any big scene that turned the mystery around or made Serena rethink it through. Enough happened in the middle to make me want to keep reading, but not anything that had me clueless to what was going to happen next,or turn the whole plot around.

Another thing I liked is it ended very soon without all the questions being answered. It didn’t give any details to what the next mystery will be about or what she will be forced to face.

This is the first book in the Serena Jones Mysteries. The second one will come out in the fall. I’m looking forward to seeing what Serena solves next.
