Apple Crisp


Comfort food debates like Shepherd’s Pie vs. Veggie Stir Fry where Shepherd’s Pie wins all but requires a comfort food dessert like Apple Crisp. This five ingredient flour-less apple crisp hit the spot. Though for some reason I failed to take pictures of the actual apples I used please trust me….there are real apples in the pictures. This recipe is adequate for a 9×9 baking dish or 6 large muffins tins. I used a muffin tin this time because I was feelin’ fancy.


4 large apples

2 cups oatmeal

1/2-1 cup brown sugar (depending on the amount of sweet you like)

1 stick melted butter

dash of cinnamon

To Do:

Step 1: Peel, core and cube the apples.

Step 2: Fill each greased muffin tin 3/4 full or place all apples in bottom of greased 9×9 baking dish.

Step 3: Place oatmeal, brown sugar, melted butter and a dash of cinnamon in a bowl and mix well.

Step 4: Using a large spoon, cover apples with topping.

Step 5: Bake at 350 degrees F for about 20 minutes. The apples will be tender when it’s done.

Tips: Serve with vanilla ice cream or cool whip.
