Homemade Double Chocolate Chip Frappuccino How-to

The girls and I like a good Frappuccino once in a while, but we live 45 minutes from the closest Starbucks. Even if we lived closer, it’s not my idea of a good time to spending close to $15.00 for 3 small Frappaccinos on a regular basis, so we started making our own. If you have any kind of blender you can make this easily. The coffee is optional. The chocolate is not. Chocolate is never optional. Ever.

Step 1. Brew a cup of coffee-any flavor, any strength, decaf or not. Your choice. Update…..this would be awesome with a shot of espresso…Right!?! I’m doing it.

Step 2. In a blender add 1/4 cup coffee, 1/3 cup chocolate bits, 2 cups milk, 1 tbsp. sugar, 1 tbsp cocoa powder and 2 cups of ice cubes. Blend everything together until you get the consistency you like. Top with a little dollop of whipped cream and drink away.  Optional: you can use chocolate syrup in here as well if you like it a bit more chocolatey.

So much of what we own were things gifted to us, passed on to us or bought second hand. Our Ninja was given to us from friends who were purchasing a newer style. The Keurig was gifted as an end of production thank you to Jeremy from a choir he directed a few years ago. They have both been used at least once a day for years. Neither are the newest version of the products but both are still in great working condition. I recommend both.
