3 Ingredient Poached Pears-Recipe

After my Pear-A-Palooza event today, I wanted an easy dinner.

So when Jeremy got home from the office I handed him (nicely and with much love…..) a package of hamburger and a plate of fresh green beans for burgers and grilled green beans on the grill.

He’s nice like that.

I also, though wanted a great dessert, to go with our Burgers and Beans.

Nothing is easier than my version of Poached Pears.

1 Large Pear per person

1 1/2 cups unpacked brown sugar

1 1/2 cups water

To Do:

Place unpeeled, washed pears in high sided baking dish. (keep the stem on, they look purty thata way…)

Sprinkle brown sugar evenly over the pears and dish.

Pour water over pears and sugar.

Bake at 350 for about an hour or until pears are fork-tender.

Serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

The glory of this dessert is that you can change it anyway you like: add a touch of cinnamon or nutmeg, throw a cinnamon stick in to bake with the pears, add some orange juice or apple cider in place of the water. Not sweet enough? Add more sugar!

Good food doesn’t need to be complicated.;)
